28 Apr How to be a “Leader” at Uncertain times?
Leaders are made; they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any worthwhile goal – Vince Lombardi. What makes one a leader is their tenacity to navigate through life challenges and obstacles and stay on course and authentic to their calling. Leaders are needed more than ever. We are going through some significant changes globally, and we need to integrate this new reality by having a solution-based mindset.
Action speaks louder than words. As a leader, there are three (3) steps we can take right now, to continue moving through COVID-19 global pandemic phase gracefully?
1: Take good care of your health and those around you by only putting nourishment in your body, walking in nature, and stretching etc. to retain your physical livelihood.
2: If you are one of those people who were not able to have time to work on projects, hobbies, or passions that was your heart desire then use this time to make most of this precious time. Being in quarantine is a perfect time for self-reflection because “Working hard for something we don’t care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion. -Simon Sinek. My self-reflection is: I love to get the first women on the moon. I like to help women on Earth to thrive and be visible leaders. I want to be the woman who does it all
3: Simplify your life, declutter, and let go off unnecessary things. Look at your environment with the binocular and see what is truly important for your livelihood.
As a leader, you have innate tools in your repository. Take them out and use them daily. I have been using CPR (Courage, Perseverance, and Resilience) to resuscitate me when life brings challenges. Our tools are handy, and it helps us get through the next evolutionary phase.
